Many thanks to Lyn Dowling, Craig Rubadoux, and Rob Landers of FLORIDA TODAY for their wonderful
Humorist Jean Shepherd's memoir of growing up in the midwest in the 1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder 200-Shot Carbine Action Range Model Air Rifle under the tree for Christmas. But whenever he pleads his case before the adults in his life, the response is "You'll shoot your eye out!" All the elements from the beloved motion picture are here, including the family's temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the boys' experiment with a wet tongue on a cold flagpole; the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin; Ralphie's father winning a “major award”; and more!
This holiday classic, based on the Warner Bros. motion picture, can be enjoyed by the whole family, and for that reason Surfside is making a special offer: for each Adult, Senior, or Military ticket you buy, get one ticket for a child (age 12 or under) FREE!
This adaptation of A CHRISTMAS STORY by Phillip Grecian is Surfside’s presentation for the Christmas season, and is directed by our wonderful Youth Players director, Ms. Eva Knowles. Presented by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, Illinois. Caution: Contains PG-rated language.
