The Surfside Improv Academy offers welcoming, skill-based improv classes in Cocoa Beach designed for beginners, actors, teens, and adults who want to feel more confident, creative, and comfortable thinking on their feet.
Our improv classes blend theatre training with real-world communication skills, helping students improve confidence, presence, listening, and adaptability. These skills apply not only onstage, but also in everyday life—at work, in conversations, auditions, and social settings.
Each class is supportive, playful, and low-pressure, making it easy to jump in—even with no prior experience.
Open to adults of all ages, and students (over 15) in high school or older.

Beginner Improv Classes (5-Week Sessions)

Our Beginner Improv classes are perfect for adults and teens who want to build confidence, express themselves more freely, and stop overthinking in the moment. These classes are ideal for first-time improv students and anyone looking for a fun, supportive creative outlet.
Each 5-week session focuses on practical skills you can immediately use in real life, including:

• thinking on your feet
• easing social anxiety
• active listening and connection
• trusting your instincts
• responding comfortably in unfamiliar situations
Classes are relaxed, encouraging, and designed to help you feel at ease. There is no expectation to be funny and no requirement to perform for an audience.

Intermediate Improv Classes & Creative Labs
Deepen your craft. Expand your range.
Our Intermediate Improv Labs are designed for students with prior improv or performance experience who want to continue developing their skills in a focused, supportive environment.
These sessions explore specific areas of improv and performance, such as:
- • bold choices and character development
• scene work and storytelling
• emotional range and presence
• ensemble collaboration
• authentic comedy and spontaneity.
Intermediate classes are ideal for actors, returning improv students, and performers who want to sharpen their instincts, improve stage presence, and bring greater confidence and ease to their work. Student must have been through 2 or more “Academy 1” level classes.
While the training is more advanced, the atmosphere remains welcoming, playful, and collaborative—never competitive or intimidating.
Thursdays, 7 – 9:30 pm – January 22nd – March 26th

Students (15-17): $50
