Join the Florida Surf Museum for the premier of “Surfing is a Natural Art- ”. In this video, Pete and Debbie recount their decades spent in the surf industry.
Beginning as teenagers, they moved from the gulf coast to Cocoa Beach, making boards in a Visqueen plastic-covered shed. They built their business to become one the most of influential and successful manufacturers on the east coast -until the 9/11 tragedy forced them to close their doors.
Pete has been inducted into the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame as well as the Surfboard Builders Hall of Fame.
There will be a silent auction for a “new” Natural Art twin fin fish made from a blank from this year’s “Surf Expo Shape-off, in Honor of Pete Dooley”, donated by Ricky Carrol. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to Pete and Debbie Dooley.
There will also be a book signing with local author, Dan Reiter for his new book “On a Rising Swell- Surf Stories From Florida’s Space Coast”- A high-speed glide through Florida surf culture and a deep dive into the lore of a classic surfing destination.
