Call for Submissions -
10 Minute Plays & Musicals
Submission Window April 20 - May 1
Surfside Playhouse invites playwrights and composers to celebrate SUMMER in all its forms with short plays and musicals that capture the energy, nostalgia, humor, romance, and freedom of the season.
Summer can mean many things:
beach days, family reunions, road trips, summer camp, Memorial Day gatherings, July 4th celebrations, Labor Day reflections, bonfires, vacations, friendship, romance, transformation, growing up, letting go, coming together.
If you’ve ever dreamed of hearing an audience laugh, sigh, reflect, or hum along to something you wrote… this is your moment.
Your work could be part of an engaging Readers’ Theatre event that brings new voices to the stage and introduces your writing to an enthusiastic live audience.
Here’s your chance to:
• See your original 10 minute play or musical performed as part of Readers’ Theatre at Surfside Playhouse
• Collaborate with local actors and director Nancy Matican-Bock as scripts come to life
• Share your creative voice with an audience that enjoys discovering new work
• Be part of a celebration of storytelling, creativity, and community
• Gain experience hearing your work performed aloud
Musicals are strongly encouraged, though straight plays are welcome.
